NCADD’s annual Mother’s Day event honored moms and moms-to-be who are clients and graduates of the Options for Recovery Program. The sunny weather presented the perfect setting for the moms and their children to enjoy lunch, games and music provided by Gordy Gomez.
Options for Recovery is a Sacramento County program that teaches pregnant and parenting women life-long recovery skills. Re-establishing healthy relationships with their children is a high priority, and staff from the Sacramento County Health and Human Services, Volunteers of America, WEAVE, and other local agencies ensure the best possible treatment planning for each client. Attendees of the Mother’s Day event were welcomed by NCADD Director of Treatment Delita Alvarado and other program leaders. NCADD Board Members Annie Andrighetto and Rene Zito, and Executive Director Barbara Thompson were on-hand to play with the kids as they celebrated their moms in recovery. To top it off, there were prize drawings, special gift bags for the moms, and prizes for the kids.
This is a joyous event that NCADD looks forward to each year.
