People who are looking at quitting their addictions feel like they are up against the wall.
It’s a hard place to be. It feels scary, exciting and dangerous all at the same time. It takes courage to begin the ascent.
The team at NCADD is honoring the challenges of this journey by holding an event where we‘ll rock climb and get a taste of the thrills and chills that accompany this sport.
Save the Date! The event takes place on Monday, September 10th from 5:00-8:00 pm. Granite Arch is located at 11335-G Folsom Blvd., in Rancho Cordova.
Like the journey of recovery, climbing is a team sport. Every climber needs a belayer. That’s the person on the ground who makes sure the climber doesn’t fall, the one who holds the rope steady and shouts words of encouragement along the way. Hmm, sounds like sponsoring to me…..
Whether you are a climber, belayer, or just cheering us on, please consider sponsoring a climber or two as they go Up Against the Wall for Recovery! Sponsors can donate a set amount for every foot climbed, and can also acknowledge the efforts of our volunteers, staff and Board members with a bonus amount for every time they reach the top! We plan to acknowledge all of our sponsors with a photograph of each climber in action.
