Rick Rogers to Launch
Families in Recovery Program

By Barbara Thompson
NCADD Sacramento Executive Director

NCADD welcomes Rick Rogers as a recent addition to the Sacramento Region Affiliate Team. Rick is the counselor for Families in Recovery and manages the expansion of our Hopeline 24/7 services.

Rick has worked for 35 years in fields as far ranging as the television industry and interior design. He decided it was time to do something he finds rewarding.

Rick is a Registered Recovery Worker with the California Certification Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors. His top choice for an internship was with NCADD Sacramento based on the services we provide and our mission to educate the public that recovery from alcohol and drug addiction is possible. While interning, he worked as an AOD Counselor, including group counseling in Prop. 36, drug diversion, and with the general outpatient population. “Working with clients during this internship cemented my goal and convinced me this was what I wanted to do,” said Rick. “It is an indescribable experience to see clients change and grow – so rewarding.”

Families in Recovery
While it is known that families are significantly impacted by addiction, there are few support systems offered to them outside of self-help. NCADD has created Families in Recovery to arm families with accurate information about the disease of addiction and the tools to restore themselves to health and harmony. Rick Rogers has been assigned to launch the program in April.
