Last year, in partnership with the faith community and a private funder, NCADD began the task of creating a faith based adaptation to the Strengthening Families program.

“The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a nationally and internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening program for high-risk and regular families. SFP is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly reduce problem behaviors, delinquency, and alcohol and drug abuse in children and to improve social competencies and school performance”*

In the process of creating the adaptation, the team determined that the version they were creating is more accurately called the Christian Companion. This companion will mean that Christian churches all over the nation will have access to a program that speaks to their faith while strengthening their families!

“I learned in Strengthening Families that if I want my kids to be strong, happy, successful adults then I have to be first”.   SFP Christian Companion Graduate
